Picture comprehension ( verb + who question)

I have prepared this activity material to teach Aakash
1. Discriminate boy and girl and also man and woman.
2. Answer “who” question.
3. Respond in a sentence.

Aakash knows verbs but he is yet to discriminate boy, girl, man and woman. We have been practising it separately like

1. Point/ show me “boy” / girl by keeping the pictures of the same. Similarly we have been doing for man and woman
2. Another activity is by sorting the pictures of boy, girl and also man, woman.
But sometimes it would be boring if we continue an activity in a same way. Since I used different set of boy and girl pictures. I expect this activity would avoid boredom and also would help him to generalise the concept. Moreover I have given cues like “boy” , “girl” , “man”, “ woman” below each picture which I expect him to understand the concept better.

Here is how we have started using this material
1. Point/ show boy/girl.
2. Make him to answer the question like What is the boy/girl/man/woman doing ?
3. Make him to read the “who” question.
4. Make him to say and write answer for the question in the given blank space.
5. So far Aakash responds in a single word. So in this activity also for the who question he replied in a word like “boy”/ “girl”. So the last task is to make him to repeat the answer in sentence like “The boy is writing”.

I will post subsequently on how we are progressing on this.
